... Happy Birthday, Mr. President ...
He is one of only 4 men to have ever been elected to these 4 positions - U.S Representative for Texas, U.S. Senator for Texas, U.S. Vice President, and U.S. President
Lyndon Baines Johnson, our 36th U.S. President was born on August 27, 1908 near Stonewall, Texas. He became the President upon the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 and went on to serve another term as President until January 20, 1969.
Johnson's work as President included what he called, designing the "Great Society." To do so, he worked with Congress to pass legislation that expanded civil rights, Medicare, Medicaid, aid to education, the arts, urban and rural development, and public services.
