These Marine Raiders, of the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, out of Marine Forces Special Operations Command in Camp Lejeune, NC, were killed on Sunday, March 8, while clearing a tunnel complex full of Islamic State fighters.
And, one Marine was killed in a non-combat incident - Corporal Elioza Zavala, 20, of Sacramento, CA. She was killed and two others injured in a tactical vehicle accident during military exercises in UAE (United Arab Emirates).

Unfortunately, ... there were 4 first responders who died in the line of duty in the last week. The 3 fallen firefighters were Tempe Fire Department's Tommy Arriaga (work-related cancer) in Arizona, Mount Holly Springs Fire Department's Jerome Guise in Pennsylvania (firefighting), and Thoroughfare Volunteer Fire Department's Safety Officer Joe Tucker (medical emergency during fire call) in North Carolina.
And the fallen officer was Hot Springs Police Officer Brent Scrimshire (shot and killed) in Arkansas.
We honor and thank these patriots for serving and protecting their communities.
