Half-Staff Alerts & Honorees for January 2
All Flags across Panola County, TEXAS (TX: until TBD): Panola County, assumedly with approval and authority of the Governor, ordered all Flags across Panola County to half-staff until sunset on the date of his interment (TBD), in honor of Deputy Chris Dickerson of the Panola County Sheriff's Office, who was killed in the line of duty on Tue., Dec. 31. All Flags in Hendersonville, TENNESSEE (TN: until TBD): Mayor of Hendersonville, assumedly with approval and authority of the Governor, ordered all Flags in Hendersonville, TN to half-staff until sunset on the date of his interment (TBD), in honor of Master Patrol Officer Spencer Bristol of the Hendersonville Police Department, who was killed in the line of duty on Mon., Dec. 30. All Flags across MARYLAND (MD: until Jan. 4): Governor ordered all Flags across Maryland to half-staff, immediately on Tue., Dec. 31 to sunset on Sat.., Jan. 4, the date of his interment, in honor of Otis L. All City Flags across Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA (CA: Dec. 18 - Jan. 7): Los Angeles Mayor ordered all City Flags across Los Angeles to half-staff, immediately on Wed., Dec. 18 to sunset on Tue., Jan. 7, in honor of Former First Assistant Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, Earl Paysinger. Thanks so much for your use of the Flag Steward app and website this past year. I hope this service met your expectations during 2019 - a year in which I had not planned to develop and enable the most honorable, accurate, and complete half-staff alert system. But, after trying to use other half-staff alert sites / services that were often incorrect, from 2018 to mid-2019, I decided to develop and deliver my own system to track half-staff alerts. And, due to my competitive spirit and determination to properly honor all our half-staff recognized fallen patriots across the USA, it's become the best site / app relaying national, state, and local half-staff alerts.
Now, with the half-staff alert service in place, I plan to concentrate more efforts to grow Flag Steward's Flag education program in schools during 2020. The Flag Steward service (app and website) had more than 200,000 unique visitors during 2019, but the vast majority of those users were adult citizens, not students. So, I plan and will work hard to reach at least 200 classrooms / 5,000 students with our Pre-Plege Tribute program in 2020.
