... a Sunday Replay of last Tuesday's Reminders ...

Today's Star-Spangled Inspiration

"I remember standing in the crow's nest as we entered the misty Panama Canal, and the strange sensation as the 4,000-ton ship rose higher and higher inside the lock."
- Christopher Buckley
Today's Flag Status
Across the USA, Our Flag flies at full staff, except in NC and NY.  And, AK has a special State Flag half-staff.

In North Carolina, the US and State Flags have been ordered to half-staff, until sunset on Sunday, Oct 14, to honor former NC House Co-speaker Richard Morgan. Morgan passed away on Wednesday, October 10.
In New York, US and State Flags are half-staff from sunrise Thursday, Oct 11 until the day of interment (burial) for the 20 victims in the 'Schoharie limo crash' on Saturday night.

[Note: In Alaska, the AK State Flag flies at half-staff until sunset on Oct 16 to honor
two former Alaska state legislators: Henry Springer and Ed Willis.]
