In Colorado, the US and CO State Flags are half-staff today to honor fallen GWOT (Global War on Terror) soldier Staff Sergeant Diobanjo Sanaugstin stationed at Fort Carson, CO
In Indiana, the US and IN State Flags in Allen County are at half-staff today for the funeral of Fort Wayne Police Officer David Tinsley who died while performing his duties.
[Announced 1207 CST today] In Kansas, the US and KS State Flags in Sedgwick County are to be flown at half-staff until sundown tomorrow, September 18, 2018, in honor of Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Kunze who was killed in line of duty on Sunday.

On this date, September 17th, in 1787, the U.S. Constitution became law. The Constitution is the "supreme law" of our land. It's also what our military service members and government officers swear to 'support and defend' in their 'Oath of Office.' At the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, delegates from twelve states voted unanimously to approve the proposed U.S. Constitution.
And, its Preamble states:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
