OTD, Sep 1, in 1984, Jerry Rice added to his ridiculous college football resume.  
Jerry Rice, playing for Mississippi Valley State, broke his own Division I-AA record for total yardage in a game by pass receptions.  He caught 17 passes for 294 yards & 5 TDs as his QB Willie Totten threw for a Division I-AA record 536 yards & 9 TDs in 86-0 win v Kentucky State
