for Tuesday, July 3, 2018
... a Tuesday 2-fer = Think & Laugh ...
[ GO HERE to perform this week's Pre-Pledge Tribute at any time you like. But, ... we recommend you designate each Friday as #FlagDayFriday
- a day to take 2 minutes to perform a pre-Pledge Tribute, which will make Pledge of Allegiance more engaging and meaningful. ]
Today's Star-Spangled Inspiration
... is a quote from American novelist, Jeff Shaara
"If you go to Gettysburg and take the time, maybe take a tour, maybe just drive around, read some of the monuments, read some of the plaques, you will come away changed."

So now, THINK ...
So now, THINK ...
What famous U.S. law was signed on July 2, 1964 and by whom?
- President John F. Kennedy first called for this bill on June 11, 1963
- It outlawed discrimination (unfair treatment) based on race, religion, sex, or ethnicity
- It forbid segregation in schools, work, and public facilities

Do you know who I am yet?
Here's one last hint:
- On November 27, 1963, Johnson told the legislators, "No memorial oration or eulogy could more eloquently honor President Kennedy's memory than the earliest possible passage of the civil rights bill for which he fought so long."
I'm the Civil Rights Act of 1964. And, as you can see, I was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson while Martin Luther King looked on.
We made you think. So, now, we're going to try and make you laugh.
What did one US flag say to the other?
