The U.S. Flag flies at full staff across the USA, except in Iowa and Kansas.
In Iowa, their Flags (US and State) are at half-staff from sunrise Tuesday to sunset Wednesday, June 20th to honor two formerly MIA soldiers - U.S. Army Sgt. Donald L. Baker who went missing on Sept 6, 1950 during a battle near Haman, South Korea and Army Private First Class John H. Walker who was reported missing in action November 1944 near Schönthal, Germany.
In Kansas, the U.S. and State Flags are at half-staff until sunset on Thursday, June 21, to honor Wyandotte County Sheriff's Deputies Theresa “TK” King and Patrick Rohrer who were killed in the line of duty on Friday, June 15th. “These two brave individuals lost their lives protecting the public and we owe them a deep debt of gratitude for their selfless service,” said the Governor. “We pray for their loved ones, as well as all law enforcement officers as we mourn this senseless tragedy.”

Women to Honor Wednesday
On 'Women to Honor Wednesday,' we pay tribute to Mary Katherine Goddard - the Patriot Publisher.
On 'Women to Honor Wednesday,' we pay tribute to Mary Katherine Goddard - the Patriot Publisher.
Mary Katherine Goddard was born on June 16 of 1738 and went on to be selected as the publisher to print the first version of the Declaration of Independence with all the Congressional signatures. She and her husband owned printing shops in Providence, RI, Philadelphia, PA and Baltimore, MD. Mary managed the shops while her husband traveled to make sales, so her name appears on the first printed Declaration of Independence as "printed by Mary Katherine Goddard." Mary went on to become the first Postmaster for Baltimore during the hectic and dangerous days of the Revolutionary War. Let us acknowledge Mary Goddard's bravery to print the Declaration of Independence despite the potential for being arrested for treason against the King of England - the colonial ruler at the time. She, like the Congressmen, took considerable risk by standing up for the freedoms colonial Americans wanted. And, for her actions, we are grateful.
