TODAY'S FLAG STATUS:
Across the USA, Our Flag flies at full staff except in Montana. The U.S. Flag and state flag is at half-staff in Montana to honor the life and legacy of former Montana Governor Judy Martz, Montana's first female Governor, who passed away on October 30th, 2017 .
NOTE: In North Carolina, the Governor has called for all state flags to fly at half-staff until sunset on Monday, November 6th, in tribute to the Department of Public Safety employee, Geoffrey Howe. He passed on Thursday after suffering multiple injuries while working at Pasquotank Correctional Institution on Thursday, October 12th.

On this date, November 3, in 1948, the Chicago Tribute newspaper proclaimed the wrong winner of the Presidential election on its front page. The headline should have been reversed. President Truman had some fun with it though.

Died November 3, 2003 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
20, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; assigned to the 299th Engineer Battalion, 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), based in Fort Hood, Texas; killed Nov. 3 when his vehicle hit a landmine while he was on patrol in Tikrit, Iraq.
